As the nursery rhyme goes April showers, bring May flowers. Spring time in Houston is in full swing. It is an ideal time to frolic outside, soaking up the sights of spring. For our potluck picnic, bring your favorite Puerto Rican dish for the Puerto Rican Enthusiasts of our meetup group. This will be a joint meetup between The Houston Spanish Language Meetup and The Houston Puerto Rican Culture Meetup. The picnic will be international with several Latin American countries represented. It's a great time to show your favorite Puerto Rican dishes.

Ideally, everyone brings something homemade. I have always thought that homemade Puerto Rican food tastes better than what is offered at restaurants. I admit I am biased towards the Puerto Rican food that my father cooked. What are your favorite Puerto Rican dishes? It doesn't hurt to call a Puerto Rican friend or relative for recipe ideas.

The scenic location of our international potluck is Hermann Park. You're welcome to bring your camera! ;o) Apart from the beautiful fountains, gazebos, and flowers, there are 101 fun things to do at the park. We can even go for a ride on pedal boats after our feast. ;o)

When you RSVP for this event, please post what you are bringing. This will help other members know what types of things/foods are still needed.

Don’t forget your sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses! Bring your own quilt and bug repellant if you need it!
